I'm happy to present the first of two days of rip offs, knock offs and outright plagiarism from the worlds of film, television and music. Whether motivated by greed or just plain laziness, just ripping off something that's already successful seems like a fairly straightforward process, so part of what's interesting about these things is how weird they get, especially when they're made over seas and adapted for local audiences. Today's lineup features a look at the history of music plagiarism lawsuits, Billy West doing his best Chaplin impersonation, the crew of the USS Enterprise abducting a Turkish hobo and much, much more!
As you may or may not be aware, I've been writing and curated videos for Network Awesome for some time now, but this weekend marks the first full days I've ever programmed. It's the culmination of a lot of research and careful selection, so I hope you dig it!
